Interview With Jessica Page
What do you do at The Legal Department?
As the Executive Assistant at The Legal Department, my role is to assist with any administrative tasks needed by our team. I help Laurie schedule professional meetings, answer phones when Jena is at functions, and onboard clients using our new client checklist by creating electronic files and downloading agreements and questionnaires. I also send LawPay invoices to clients for filing fees and match trust accounting ledgers and journals to the debits and credits provided by clients. Additionally, I get to participate in fun activities that enhance our team’s effectiveness and client experience. My diverse responsibilities ensure smooth operations and support our firm’s commitment to helping small business owners.
What do you like most about what you do?
What I enjoy most about my role at The Legal Department is the collaborative and supportive environment. Working with a team of talented and dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping small business owners is incredibly rewarding. The flexibility of working from home allows me to maintain a healthy work-life balance while contributing to our firm’s success. Additionally, I find it particularly fulfilling to send welcome gifts to our new clients. Ensuring their initial experience is smooth and welcoming helps set the foundation for a positive client relationship. Knowing that my efforts help create a positive and efficient experience for our clients makes my work truly enjoyable.
Who are your favorite clients to work with?
I love working with clients who have a true passion for their businesses and their missions. It’s incredibly inspiring to read their background information as I enter all their details into our system. Learning about their journeys, their dedication, and the expertise they bring to their fields is fascinating. It’s a privilege to support such driven and accomplished professionals and to be a part of their continued success.
What is special or unique about helping professional service providers?
What’s special about assisting professional service providers is the opportunity to indirectly learn from them while supporting their businesses. Whether it’s checking registration status or reviewing tax filings, I gain insights into their operations. Additionally, I learn from long-time small business owners through their newsletters and from new entrepreneurs as they navigate entrepreneurship, much like myself. These experiences provide valuable lessons that I can apply to my own business endeavors.
What are two words your friends would use to describe you?
Structured. Compassionate.
