Interview With Aubrey Mys
What do you do at The Legal Department?
At The Legal Department, I handle a variety of business-related legal tasks, including forming new business entities, conducting audits, and managing corporate governance. I prepare documents and filings for formations, dissolutions, conversions, and domestications, as well as assemble entity books and provide orientations for clients. Additionally, I draft consents for business transactions, conduct legal research, proofread documents, and schedule client meetings. I assist attorneys with various tasks, maintain communication with clients, and work on improving internal processes while tracking tasks and providing metrics to ensure efficiency.
What are you most looking forward to learning during your time at TLD?
At TLD, I’m excited to deepen my understanding of corporate governance and business law, especially when it comes to entity formations, conversions, and audits. I’m looking forward to getting hands-on experience drafting legal documents and filings while working closely with clients and attorneys. I’m also eager to learn more about the legal compliance process, entity domestication, and how to streamline business transactions and improve internal workflows.
How will this clerkship help you in your future endeavors?
This clerkship will give me practical, hands-on business law experience that will be valuable for my future. Working on entity formations, governance, and audits will help me build important skills in drafting legal documents and managing business transactions. In addition, collaborating with attorneys and interacting with clients will teach me how to handle real-world legal challenges. Overall, it’s a great opportunity to strengthen my legal knowledge and prepare for a career in corporate or healthcare law.
